Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and finally separating with former coach his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt since that period of the previous year.

Success also indicates he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

Yet the player has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an enhanced service.

The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the last five points to go ahead.

The pair traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional victory, gained dominance to force a decider.

The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a close third set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
